The event will bring the top four triathletes currently ranked in the Panamerican Championship 2018. Xterra Samana is the fifth edition of the triathlon Xterra Dominican Republic, where more than 300 national and international athletes will participate.

The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic announced the celebration of its XXXIV Commercial Exhibition that will be held at Blue Mall Punta Cana, from October 19 to 21 of this year.
This exhibition is held annually and is considered the main platform for all suppliers of goods and services related to the tourism industry at a national and international level.
The president of Asonahores, Rafael Blanco Tejera, affirmed that this activity has been held successfully for more than 30 years, being the event with the greatest impact and relevance for the suppliers of the tourism industry.
"This three-day exhibition, with the participation of important international and local actors who have a great deal to offer, brings together hoteliers and suppliers of goods and services from our market to continue with the continued growth of the sector," Blanco Tejera assured.
We underscore the importance of the film sector in the recovery of the Dominican Republic’s tourism industry
The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) stated that the film sector has become a fundamental axis of the local tourism industry, carrying out productions that promote emerging destinations in the country.
Furthermore, it has become a key factor in the recovery of the country's tourism in times of pandemic.
Rafael Blanco Tejera, president of the entity, offered these statements during the "The Impact of Cinema in the Dominican Republic" forum, organized by the British Chamber of Commerce, where he highlighted that "film productions promote the country as a tourist and investment destination." and they are in line with the entire diversification strategy that we are promoting under the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism and Minister David Collado.
"Through the different players that are part of the productions that are carried out, the country's image is promoted in the main issuing markets, and, in addition, they contribute to the productive chain of the basic sectors that boost the economy," Blanco Tejera pointed out.
Moreover, he emphasized Asonahores considers the film sector as an ally of tourism with a win-win relationship which have been reflected in a direct and indirect contribution to the entire tourism industry, including a wide range of complimentary services, driven by a contribution of more than 18,000 jobs generated directly and more than 133,000 hotel nights contracted, through more than 100 film productions made within the national territory in 2021.

Santo Domingo. The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic, ASONAHORES, announced the twenty-first edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange, DATE, to be held from May 11 to 13, at the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center, Punta Cana
This activity, held for 21 years, is the main platform for business exchanges between travel agents, international tour operators and the main suppliers of the country's tourism sector.
Rafael Blanco Tejera, president of ASONAHORES, explained that this new edition of DATE will bring together in person the main source markets of the industry with the hotel sector, and the local complementary offer, strengthening confidence in the Dominican tourism product, increasing flow of tourists, and continue contributing to the national economic recovery.
“DATE 2022 is part of ASONAHORES’ strategy to continue contributing to the growth of tourism activity, facilitating expansion and investment opportunities in the sector according to the agreements and businesses established at FITUR 2022, where members of the institution met to promote the country as a destination, as well as the merits recognized by the highest global tourism authorities in the recovery of our industry and the implementation of hygiene and safety protocols from the effort made together with the Ministry of Tourism against COVID-19”, Tejera Blanco indicated.
